Rapper Shyne and Def Jam CEO/Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid have mended their strained relationship and are working towards releasing the rapper’s first album in over six years.

Reid traveled to Belize to re-sign Shyne to Def Jam, the same label that released his last official album, 2004’s Godfather: Buried Alive.

“I have come here to stand by Shyne and to officially kick off our partnership with Island Def Jam Music Group and Gangland Records and so it is really an honor to be here,” Reid told 7 News of Belize during a trip to the island.”

Although their last attempt to release a record ended in a bitter war of words in the press, Shyne, real name, Moses Michael Leviy, was honored to be back with Def Jam under a new, seven-figure deal.

“It is an honor and a pleasure, not just for me but for Belize,” Shyne added. “Chairman Reid is on the level of Berry Gordy, Clive Davis, the biggest music men in the history of music, and so to have a partnership with Gangland Records and Island/Def Jam is incredible for me.”

L.A. Reid was confident that his relationship with Shyne this time around would lead to success for the rapper, who spent over 8 years in prison over a violent shoot-out in a New York club while partying with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez.

“I don’t expect it, I can promise it,” L.A. Reid said of Shyne’s potential success.

10 years ago, a New York based group called the L.O.X featured on the Bad Boy label and created a buzz that had many fans believing this would be a group that would constantly put out record albums. Unfortunately, that would be the last time we heard a studio album from the group that boast superstar artists Jadakiss, Styles P. and Sheek Louch.

That was until one of the best rappers alive, Jadakiss came through and showed Dofattv.com some love. But not only did he come and show love, he came with a revelation that will have L.O.X [which will most likely drop on the Interscope Label] fans salivating at the mouth. He mentioned that the 2nd studio album for the powerhouse rap group from Yonkers is now in the works.

“The L.O.X , we ain’t been out in 10 years, so people want that album, its artists that want that album, so we’re just working on it,” the talented rapper said.

This album will exemplify the L.O.X ability as it is expected to not feature many guest appearances and have an all-star team of producers that they have worked with in the past.

“We’ll probably only have one anyway, we don’t need no features, we don’t need no guest appearances…you know n*ggas that we came in the game with, hot n*ggas, Premo, Alchemist, hopefully Dre, Just Blaze, Kanye, naw mean? Who got some fire!”

The rapper who would love to be on a track with multi-platinum artist Stevie Wonder is also working on a mix-tape and his next studio album, both have yet to be titled.

One of the few rappers who does not have to watch his back in the industry because of the respect he has garnered because of his catchy lyrics and ability to go bar-for-bar with some of the industry’s best artists.
“No, they[rappers] ain’t stupid,” answered Kiss after he was asked if he had any beefs within the industry.
As much as Kiss is a talented rapper he is also a shrewd businessman, the multi-platinum selling artist has opened a Gentleman’s Club in Greensboro, NC called L.A.X and is continuing to work on his D-Block Fitted Hats line.

Dofattv users also learned how Jada came up with the laugh that could be recognized by anyone Kiss’ famous “Aha!”

“That’s what I do when I clear my throat in the booth before I rap,” Kiss said.

The D-Block artist also expressed his wisdom and that he is also technology-savvy, as he told aspiring artists to be persistent and use the net as a way to promote themselves.

“Keep going hard and [use the] internet,” he said to aspiring artists who want to reach the heights the star rapper has reached.

Tiger Woods makes an emotional apology which has been largely well received by the world of golf despite his admission he did not know when he would return to playing.

The apology was made to a select gathering at PGA Tour headquarters in Florida, Woods apologised to his wife, friends and family as well as his fans.

“I was unfaithful, I had affairs and I cheated. What I did was unacceptable,” he said.

Most of you may know already but yesterday we experienced some technical difficulties with our chats. Dofat TV’s coding did not match the chat Engine’s coding, otherwise known as Tinychat.

This caused 2 separate rooms with the same URL’s. We managed to get 1 room up and running (Atlanta chat) then locked and redirected traffic from the rest of the network to the ATL chat.

Both teams, Dan Blake, CEO of Tinychat and Alex Timbs from DofatTV managed to rectify this situation by this morning. We currently have 4 rooms running today (NYC, ATL, DFW, GrindHouse) and expect to open the entire network by tomorrow.

Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, has just been ordered to support baby Nixon, at least temporarily …

An L.A. judge just ordered Knowles to pay $8,200 a month in child support, retroactive to February 1. Knowles must also pay 100% of uninsured medical costs.

Alexsandra Wright claims she had an 18-month relationship with Knowles and he’s the baby daddy of Nixon — born February 4. 

Wright’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, went to court today asking for support and the judge granted it.

But Knowles will take a DNA test March 1 … and the long-term support issues hinge on the outcome.

It’s interesting — Knowles has not flat out denied he’s the daddy. And in fact, he gave Alexsandra $10,000 in January to cover uninsured medical costs and baby stuff.

UPDATE: The Judge ordered Knowles to pay Wright $20,750 for the month of January.

Is J. Holiday the last real singer alive? If you ask the confident singer from the District of Columbia he would most likely tell you, yes [hinting to the amount of auto-tune used on singers’ voices to enhance their vocal ability]. “I have never used auto-tune,” said the Holiday when asked about a riff with Young Money artist Drake that he made sure to set the record straight and told Dofattv.com users he was never a part of.

More concerned about his career and having much more to strive for because of his own personal struggles than to start beef with other artists, the Washington D.C. native has seen first-hand how lucrative the music industry can be after struggling for three years trying to grind as a starving artists as well as trying to juggle a job to keep a roof of his family’s head, all the while trying to pursue his musical dream.

Now he is recognized by all kinds of people, has a house in his name and is by no surprise is no longer- treated like an average Joe.

“People are treating you different, and now everyone that was hating wants to be your friend,” he answered to Dofat TV users with a grin.

The self-described “real singer” was found by Anthony Tate [who also found singer Ciara] a few years back after Tate saw Holiday’s group in action and from there that’s when the D.C. born rapper decided to try his chances in the music hotspot.

Being a part of the rich musical history of the nation’s capitol, J.Holiday is a product of a line of great artists like the deceased Marvin Gaye. Gaye is one of his musical influences and you can hear the influence in Holiday’s vocals. He admires Gaye so much that he would have loved to have done a track with the artist who was killed by his father almost 26 years ago, called “M**therF*ckers Don’t Sing No More” a track that would highlight the lack of natural singers unlike talents like himself and Marvin within the industry.
So adamant about bringing real singing back into the forefront, he considers himself to be one of the few who can resurrect R&B because he is a naturally talented artist. Citing that musical genre’s like country and pop has surpassed R&B in popularity. “R&B isn’t as high on the totem pole or in high demand as country, rock ‘n’ roll, and pop,” he said. J wants to do everything in his power to change that.

The man who sang the smash-hit “Bed”, a track that was a safe bet to make plenty of ladies wants to add to his repertoire. The passionate artist feels like he has the ingredients needed to perform a make-over on R&B. Already two LP’s deep in the industry, following his first studio album, Back of My Lac, with the so properly titled, Round 2, Holiday wants to show he has much more to offer the game and has many more tricks up his sleeve.

Currently, he is getting his label together as well as grinding in the studio to continuously make more hits yet keep his same soulful sound. “It’s gonna be big, I’m on a mission. Not switching up the sound, in the gym,” said Holiday.

He also has a message for the children: “Do the music because of the passion and because of the fame,” said the African American artist [who has be confused to be of Eritrean descent because of his biblical name and the large Eritrean population in D.C.] very genuinely to those listening. Commenting on artists who do it for the fame and not putting a 100% into everything they do leading to watered-down albums and music. Holiday considers himself to be a role-model in terms of music and he would like no then to be considered in 5-10 years as a musical influence to the children. The message is humbling and comes from a humble man, who has all the tools to be added to the long-list of great native of District of Columbia artists.
